An extraordinary year

The latest edition of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education’s Annual Review celebrates the inspiring stories of 2020. In a year marked by bushfires, political turmoil and the global COVID-19 pandemic, our staff and students demonstrated their strength, resilience and creative thinking in the face of a once-in-a-lifetime educational challenge.

As the COVID-19 pandemic altered our way of life and the educational landscape changed in a matter of weeks, our professional and academic staff responded to the challenge by providing expert advice to governments and schools, reshaping university courses and support services for online delivery, digitising research projects, and shifting community engagement programs online.

Dean of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, Professor Jim Watterston, reports on an extraordinary year.
